About Fishlike

Since our beginning in 1998, Fishlike has been a strong advocate to Total Immersion (TI) swimming concepts and techniques. Total Immersion techniques allow swimmers to swim faster, further and easier, while using lesser energy.

Using TI concept, Fishlike have successfully taught swimming techniques to non-swimmers and experienced swimmers alike. Even competitive athletes, such as triathletes and open water swimmers have improved their swimming capacity through these techniques.

“… I can’t even finish a 25m freestyle swim; that was me before I knew Fishlike”

~ Andy Lordianto, Top in Ironman 70.3 Cebu in 2012, Having him to swim 1.9KM in 34 Minutes.

Firstly, we coach our athletes in the important foundational skills and techniques of balance and streamlining of the body. These skills are eventually engraved into the muscle memory and habits of our athletes before we begin coaching them in their aerobic fitness, distance endurance, and speed. The end result is a smooth and efficient swimmer, able to swim his record best never done before without TI coaching.

Although this may sound abstract or even absurd to most athletes now, try relating this concept to the age old techniques in Tai-Chi. Simply, TI is conceptually like the art of Tai-Chi that is more advance in the art of swimming.

Through the self improved and unique training techniques from our qualified and experience coaches, Fishlike is able to touch and shape the hearts and swim strokes of multiple athletes. Moreover, we believe that it is not just about swimming right, but to also enjoy the sport in an interactive and enriching manner with a new group of like-minded friends.

About Total Immersion

The Tao of TI: What makes Total Immersion Different
Though swimming is an essential life skill, traditional teaching and coaching methods have made it difficult to master because they teach an awkward, exhausting style of swimming. Total Immersion’s foolproof approach to teaching can help any student master a fluent, beautiful and economical style and brings results far faster than conventional methods:

  • Only TI teaches Fishlike Swimming. Traditional instruction focuses on pulling, kicking and endless laps. TI teaches you to swim with the effortless grace of fish by becoming one with the water. You’ll feel the difference from your very first lap of intelligent, purposeful TI practice and get more satisfaction from every lap that follows.
  • Only TI teaches the qualities of beautiful swimming as well as the mechanics. Swimmers come to us with the goal of swimming faster. They quickly learn that it’s far more helpful and satisfying to swim with grace, flow, and economy…and that speed will surely follow when they master ease.
  • Only TI teaches transformation along with fluid strokes. TI, alone among all swimming-improvement programs, teaches swimming as a practice — in the same mindful spirit as yoga or tai chi. Our students tell us that by swimming the TI way they sharpen the mind-body connection and achieve heightened self-awareness and self-mastery, leading to greater physical and mental well-being.
  • Only TI teaches you to master swimming as an art. TI teachers emphasize the same patient precision and refinement taught by martial arts masters. We start with simple skills and movements and progress by small, easily-mastered steps. Our students thrive on the attention to detail and the logical sequence of progressive skills.
