FTSS™ Module 1
Develop Comfort, Control and Self-Awareness
Objectives
- Acquiring the "aquatic brain".
- Make breathing a routine so as to remove distraction while working on the next three foundations.
- Find effortless support or balance, by imprinting a neutral head position and the right position on the Track for your (relaxed) extended hand.
- Make long, "slippery" bodylines a habit by learning to "pierce the water" with your spearing arm and follow the Track with your bodyline.
- Make whole-body propelling movement a habit.
- Minimally, swimmers would be able to complete a 750m comfortably
Modular Content
- 30% Balance Drills (Sweet Spot, Skating and ZipperSkate) to find your balance and imprint sleek bodylines.
- 40% Under-and ZipperSwitch Drills, focus on minimizing drag and turbulence while becoming "patient" in trapping the water.
- 20% Mindful Swimming (whole stroke with focal points) to transfer the awareness gained in drills into whole stroke.
- 10% Stroke Counting to measure your improvements in efficiency and compare the effectiveness of various focal points.
Module Duration
12 pool sessions
Each session is 1.5 hrs
Class Size
1 coach: 10 athletes (maximum)
Module Completion Requirements
- Swim 750m with freestyle below 22 min smoothly
- Swim golf for 50m at 105 or less
Appropriate Swimmers
- Swimmers who have completed the TI FFWS Part A and B
- Swimmers who have completed the TI Freestyle Weekend Workshop
- Swimmers who desires to turn TI drills into correct swim habits
Module Fee
S$ 500 per athlete
