Terms & Guidelines

Introduction

All Programs conducted by Fishlike Sports Academy Pte Ltd were designed to help the learners to develop a level of basic swimming skills, lifesaving knowledge, personal survival skills or triathlon training depending on the objectives selectively offered by our courses. The school uses the most updated skills and knowledge to teach our learners. Our Swim Teachers have years of experience and expertise to provide optimum learning.

Below are the Terms of Service which is very important to you. Please go through it and clarify with us if you have any question. Thank you for choosing to learn with Fishlike Sports Academy Pte Ltd.

TERMS OF SERVICE

By Submitting the Student Record Form, you hereby understood and agreed to this Terms of Service.

All programs, which are provided by Fishlike Sports Academy Pte Ltd, are not transferable from one person to another. Please note that we reserve the right to alter this Terms of Service without prior notice and will send an updated copy of the revised Terms of Service to the affected one.

Rules And Regulations For Swimmers

  1. Please be punctual in all your sessions.
  2. Please await instructions from the Swim Teacher before entering the pool.
  3. Ask questions when in doubt.
  4. No pushing and running at the poolside.
  5. Have your name marked on all your personal training equipment.
  6. Swim equipment required by student:
    • Goggles
    • Fishlike Swim Cap
    • Swim Suit or Swim Trunk
    • Swimmer Snorkel

The above items are available at the Academy for your purchases at a discounted member’s rate. 7. Always try your best and be positive.
8. Please do your best to attend your scheduled lessons.

Rules And Regulations For Parents

  1. Please do not show any signs of anxiety towards your child as they can sense it. If you wish to speak to any of our Swim Teachers, please inform the Deck Coordinator and she will arrange for a meeting. We do appreciate your co-operation.
  2. Give positive reinforcement and words of encouragement to your child after each lesson.
  3. Let the Swim teacher take care of your child during the lesson.
  4. After the swim, please arrange for your child to shower and change immediately. Do not allow your child to be in the water without an accompanying adult.

Registration Policy

There will be a registration fee of S$25.00 which they will receive a Fishlike T-shirt (they need to wear it when they come for lesson), a Fishlike Nylon Swim Cap and a Progress Record File. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Bill and Payment Policy

  1. There will be a one month deposit payable at the point of registration. The deposit is refundable when you terminate the lesson after settling all outstanding charges.
  2. The deposit will be considered forfeiture if the student take a leave from the school more than six months.
  3. Payment of swimming fee for monthly basis will be collected one month in advance.
  4. Payment due dates are fixed on the 1st day of every month.
  5. When making payment by cheque, please ensure that the child’s name, day and class time is written on the back of the cheque and should be made before the due date and slot it in the plastic holder with the payment record card.
  6. When making payment by cash, it should be made before the due date and slot it in the plastic holder with the payment record card.
  7. For new enrolment, lesson that starts other than first week of the month will be pro-rated per lesson or per week, otherwise make-up lesson will be arranged.
  8. For every reminder letter that is sent out, S$10.00 extra will be charged for late payment and it will be stated in the reminder letter.
  9. All payments by cheque should be crossed and made payable to:

  11. In the event of purchasing swim gear from us, all payments will be made by cash only.
  12. Please note that there are certain months in the calendar year with a 5th week. There are no extra charges for the additional lesson.

Make-up Policy

  1. There will be no make-up class if your scheduled lesson falls on:
    • Public Holiday
    • Chinese New Year Eve
    • 3rd to 7th day after the Chinese New Year
    • Christmas Eve
    • New Year Eve
    • Any official school events
  2. There will be no make-up lesson for no-show or if you could not make it on the schedule class.
  3. Make-up lesson may be schedule for student only if they are ill. Please note the following points pertaining to make-up lessons:
    • To be eligible for make-up lessons, a copy of the medical certificate or receipt is necessary and you must be a registered student of the Academy.
    • Make-up lesson apply to the “Complete Swimmer Award” only.
    • Please inform the office at 6583 3031. A make-up coupon will be issued to you upon submission of your medical certificate or receipt.
    • Please call one week in advance to schedule for the lesson. Please be present for your schedule make-up lesson, otherwise, it will be considered forfeiture. We do not make up a make-up lesson.
    • Please return the coupon to the Coordinator before the start of each lesson.

No Refund

  1. School fee are not refundable under all circumstances. Example:
    • When you/your child refuses to participate in the pool
    • When you/your child did not complete the lesson for the day
    • When you/your child is absent regardless of any reasons, be it due to sickness, medical reasons or away for holiday, etc
    • Withdrawal from the course

The Fishlike Complete Swimmer Award Program

  1. The purpose of this program is to provide a tangible tool to motivate the child and it also acts as a clear indicator of the child’s progress.
    • Our examiner will conduct the grading. The child will be graded upon recommendation by the Swim Teacher. On passing the grading, the child will be awarded a certificate for every module.
    • The grading will be conducted during a selected date known at the beginning of each year. Your child will be able to participate in as many grading as long as he/she is recommended and eligible for it.
    • The cost of the Certificate and Test fees are S$6.00 for Module 1 to Module 9 and S$30.00 for Module 10.

Please note:

  • Students must participate in all preceding levels of grading if their evaluated entry level is Module 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

  • Module recommended for grading does not reflect current learning level.

  • Students will only be recommended for grading on modules which they have already learnt.

Temporary Leave Of Absence

  1. If you wish to take a leave from the School for a month or longer, kindly inform the School, in writing, one month in advance. Please obtain a form from the school. For the Complete Swimmer Award and Fishlike Swimmer Award, if you wish to reserve your time slot, a full month’s fee is chargeable. Otherwise, please give us a call when you return, a new time slot and Swim Teacher will be arranged for you.

Withdrawal Of Class Policy

  1. If you wish to withdraw your child from the program, please kindly give us one month written notice prior to your next payment due date (refer to Bill & Payment Policy), otherwise a month’s fees will be imposed on you. The form is available at the office.
    Note: Absence from lesson does not indicate withdrawal from class unless the withdrawal form is received.

Bad Weather

  1. Please attend classes regardless of the weather. If there is a bad weather, stroke drills, stretching and calisthenics exercises related to swimming will be conducted.

Pool Closure

  1. We will inform you ahead of time should the swimming pool be closed on certain occasions. An alternate pool will be designated.

Changes Of Swim Teacher

  1. When an assigned Swim Teacher is ill or unavailable, a relief Swim Teacher will conduct the class. All Swim Teachers are trained staff of the School.

Indemnity

  1. The School is not liable for any claim of damages, accidents, injuries, costs and expense in relation to or arising during participation in the program. However, all training will be supervised under qualified Swim Teacher and all precautionary steps will be taken to ensure maximum safety of the student.

Note: Fishlike Sports Academy Pte Ltd reserves the right to accept, reject or terminate any person from the activities and programs of the school.
