Level 2 – Freestyle Mastery Foundation

Transform your Full Freestyle Stroke – Using Total Immersion

In the Freestyle Mastery Foundation, you will learn the right technique to breathe after you have internalized the foundations covered in the Level 1- Freestyle Mastery Discovery class. On top of that, students will be taught the 2 beat kick which removes the need for the tiresome flutter kick. With these two new skills, you would have picked up the main features of the Total Immersion freestyle swim.

To complete your freestyle stroke, you will learn and fine-tune your freestyle switching timing and your full freestyle swim.

You will be introduced to the use of a Tempo Trainer during the Freestyle Mastery Foundation and will learn more about the deeper knowledge of stroke rate. This will prepare you for the next level and will give you more control over your own freestyle stroke. Imagine being able to control the number of strokes you need to complete a 50m swim, and based on that decide if you are going to go all out or reserve some energy for subsequent laps. That is the power you gain once you master your stroke rate and stroke length.

• Revision of the topics covered in Level 1
• Underwater video session for individual athlete to allow our coaches to assist you in identifying and analyzing your strengths and weaknesses
• Introduction to specific drills in Total Immersion swimming

* Skate to sweet spot
* Zen switch sequence with snorkel
* Zen switch sequence to sweet spot
* Introduction to single leg kick skating
• Integration of drills learnt into the full swim
• Able to perform Zen switch drills & know which leg is kicking
• Able to perform over switch drills & know which leg is kicking
• Introduction to two beat kick
• Introduction to basic use of Tempo Trainer
• Able to swim 25meters with seamless breathing and a compact recovery
